Here are the most recent health care related regulatory developments as published in the New Jersey Register on February 5, 2018:
- On February 5, 2018 at 50 NJR 815, the Department of Health published its notice of its adoption of new rules governing hospital financial transparency. Under the new rules, hospitals (or hospital systems that do not issue hospital-specific audited financial statements) will be required to submit audited annual financial statements to the Department of Health within 180 days of the close of its reporting period. In addition, the hospital/health system will be required to post direct links on their website to the audited annual financial statements, and will also be required to hold a public meeting within 60 days of the submission of the audited annual financial statements to the Department of Health. The attendees at the meeting will be entitled to obtain copies of the audited annual financial statements. A submission of cumulative unaudited quarterly financial statements throughout each quarter must also be submitted within 45 days after the close of each quarter.
- On February 5, 2018 at 50 NJR 821, the Department of Health published notice of its readoption of the rules for licensing of nursing home administrators, as well as the rules regulating the Nursing Home Administrators Licensing Board.
- On February 5, 2018 at 50 NJR 829, the Department of Banking and Insurance published notice of its adoption of amendments to its rules, as well as the adoption of new rules, governing prompt payment of claims submitted by health care providers.
- On February 5, 2018 at 50 NJR 869, the Department of Health published notice of its call for Certificate of Need applications for 53 additional adult acute care psychiatric beds in Hunterdon, Morris and Warren Counties.
